University of Maryland students walk home in front of the setting sun after a long day of classes. One student takes her dog for a walk as the day winds down. Backpack over shoulder, one student walks down the sidewalk after a busy day. Some students wait for the bus outside Knight Hall. As the sun sets further below the horizon, fewer and fewer students remain on the streets.

The MEOR staff proudly display Hebrew mementos on their fireplace. They line the shelves with cultural items such as Shabbas candlesticks. Each Wednesday, participants gather to hear the Rabbis and other prominent speakers present about topical issues.  The students then break out into groups to discuss the information and engage in related programs. Here, they read through handouts to guide their conversation.
